Windscreen Wipers At Risk From Arial Avian Abuse.

Posted: July 29, 2010 | By: | In: Autos and More

People around the region are facing a new sneaky menace which afflicts their very ableness to see decisively on the road. It seems some adventurous avian have got motorists in an uproar over their daring day light assaults on their vehicle’s wiper blade. These naughty raiders have basically evolved a taste for the lovely tang of rubber from wiper blade and will stop at nothing to satisfy their bizarre cravings. Nothing is sacred to these winged beasts even the sealing from doors and windows is fair game to this pack of heartless criminals. It’s not just motorist who are at risk, we have breaking news that even the rubber insulation in double glazing is a prime target for destruction. It seems some motorists have gained the upper hand by covering their wiper blade up in plastic bin bags to avoid the voracious bird flocks from devouring their precious rubber like a plague of swarming locusts. Residents have been told to stay in doors until the worst is over and tranquillity once again settles to our streets and homes. Experts recommend hiding all rubber wiper blade with towels to deter any would be vandals.

Motorists are reporting shelling out record amounts for new wiper blades as a result of a sudden spate of attacks and it looks like there is no end in sight. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds or RSPB reminds angry motorists that killing the crows would be futile as crows are known to be practically indestructible. They go on to explain that this variety of wiper blades eating behaviour is relatively frequent for the birds and quite often crows will assault their own reflection in a wind screen causing more issues. There have even been reports of broken glass as a result of these foolish attempts to subdue an imaginary opponent. Putting cling film over the wind screen is one way to moderate the risks as this experiment is known to remove the reflection. In order to protect their valuable wiper blades some motorists on one street have even considered using a state of the art scarecrow to scare off the assailants.

The birds are known to be very territorial and attempts to ward off possible love rivals very common in the animal kingdom. Even the lovely Peacock has been known to charge cars in the past and it seems these bird brains just don’t give up once they get a taste of delicious rubber replacement wiper blades. One method to scare off birds for good is by hiring a hawk or other bird of prey these can be hired for precisely this purpose and will scare off any naughty birds for good. A less dramatic technique to protect your replacement wiper blades is too soak them in something which doesn’t taste very nice, vinegar is a good place to start but be warned some substances can damage paint work and the rubber on the replacement wiper blades themselves. So as another days sets and another day dawns over this sweet and gentle land it seems motorists and birds are trapped once again in an epic struggle and steadily escalating quagmire of tit for tat reprisals for the next bit of the foreseeable future.
