Tucson Windshield Repair FAQs
Brought to you by Auto Glass Replacement Tucson… your local Tucson auto glass shop.
How long does it take repair a windshield?
On average, windshield repairs can be completed in less than 1 hour.
How big of a chip or crack can you fix?
In most cases, any chip larger than a quarter, will usually need to be replaced. If the damage is in front of the drivers field of vision, the most insurance companies will require us to replace the windshield. If your windshield has a crack and it’s less than six inches, it can usually be saved.
Should I repair my windshield or just replace it?
It really depends on the size of the damage and whether or not it’s in your line of vision. If your windshield is repairable, it will save you or your insurance company money and time because windshield repairs usually only take around 10 to 20 minutes.
Do you have a mobile windshield repair service?
Yes. We have all of the necessary equipment to handle windshield repairs outside and can come to your home, office, or any where else you need us.
What will happen if I don’t get my windshield repaired right away?
Unfortunately windshield damage can spread due to weather conditions and pressure changes, plus over time air and dirt will trap itself into the damaged area preventing it from sealing completely during a windshield repair. So the sooner we can repair your windshield the better.
Will a windshield repair in Tucson be covered by my insurance company?
Yes. Usually everyone who carries comprehensive coverage also has glass coverage, which means all your windshield damage should be covered by your plan.
If you are unsure just give us a call 520-869-8624 and we’d be happy to help you find out. Sometimes insurance companies will have a deductible for your glass coverage, but in most cases will waive the deductible in order to pay for your windshield repairs in Tucson, Arizona.
Do I have to file any paperwork with my insurance company?
Not unless you want to, otherwise we’ll take care of everything so you don’t have to and even bill your insurance company directly.
I’m worried that if I file an auto glass claim… my insurance rates will go up. Is this a concern I should worry about?
Every insurance company is different and you should consult your insurance company if you have your doubts, however a damaged windshield does not reflect your driving history. Auto glass repair and replacement both fall under comprehensive coverage, not collision, so in most cases, insurance companies will not count auto glass damage as a claim on your policy but please contact your agent for more details or we can do it for you.
