The Thin Line Between Driving Ability Of Men And Women
July 24th, 2010
Created only a a hundred ago, cars have become the kings of the roads. It is now impossible to think of lives without cars, buses planes and many other mode of transportation. The requirement for vehicles is ever increasing, and the car dealer marketing is now turning towards broader online marketing through car dealer websites.
Like all other things, automobile manufacturers are not making any gender specific car. Yet, many people love to call petite autos as a chick car. Yet even these cars match up to their muscular counterpart in terms of velocity and performance. Many have proven that beauty and velocity is a notion beyond size. However, the argument over who is a good driver among male and female is never ending.
Most answers regarding this argument tend to be really biased. Yet, one must understand that driving is not about a person’s strength or size. It is about the way one reacts to a situation, and the way one takes decision. Now, obviously not all men are alike nor all women alike therefore, it can be understood that driving skills and performance differ from person to person rather than genders. Most people argue about the fact that it is no more a male-oriented society, and that women today have proven to be exceptionally capable of anything. However, from time to time we have seen that it is not the society that suffers from male dominance, it is its mentality. Despite proving themselves in every areas and profession, women are still the weaker sex, thus assumed to be incapable of performing tasks which once they were not allowed to.
Of course, we can link this theory back to the medieval times when women were not as good as men were in riding horses just for the reason they weren’t given equal chances to learn. But today statistics have proven that female drivers are involved in lower number of road accidents than men. However, this still cant prove women to be the superior drivers. The reason behind this fact is that men, particularly in their younger years, are more rebellious and careless. On the contrary women, in any age, are cautious and careful. The difference of behavior is not the only thing that makes things hard to deliberate. Studies have shown that men and women’s brains work differently in different circumstancwes. For example, men are likely to take quick and short term decisions while women take time and make long term decisions.
The power to think fast does prove useful while in an a sudden abrupt traffic situation. However, it is still dificuly say tell which is better, making quick but faulty decision or getting right but late. However, it won’t be wrong to say that now a dasy there are many men and women who defy the odds. There are many women who can take quick decision and also a few men who invest a lot of time and emotion in their final decisions. Therefore, once again the war of sexes ends without any definite winner. But, if you have an insurance company, ensure you charge your male prospects a bit more than the females. No gender bias intended- it’s just a friendly business advice.
